Yusuf Bey IV likely seeking venue change in Bailey trial
Former Your Black Muslim Bakery leader Yusuf Bey IV and co-defendant Antoine Mackey will likely seek a change of venue next month for their upcoming triple murder trial, lawyers in the case said Monday. Alameda County Superior Court Judge Morris Jacobson set a hearing on the matter for June 21 during a brief hearing.
Popoff, Bey IV’s ‘No. 1 soldier,’ expressed his loyalty
“I am your No. 1 soldier,” ex-con Gary Popoff professed in a January 2009 telephone conversation with his spiritual mentor, Yusuf Bey IV, who was in the Santa Rita Jail facing charges of kidnapping and torture. “There is nothing I won’t do for you,” he said. “You are an innocent man, and Allah is about to intervene on your behalf.”

President Obama lauds Chauncey Bailey on World Press Freedom Day
“World Press Freedom Day is observed every year on May 3 to remind us of the critical importance of this core freedom. In this year, like in other years, nearly three out of four of the journalists killed were local news-gatherers who were murdered in their own nations. Chauncey Bailey was one such local journalist.” –President Barack Obama
