Mackey, Bey IV to be tried together in Bailey murder trial, judge rules
OAKLAND — A San Francisco man charged with former Your Black Muslim Bakery leader Yusuf Bey IV in the 2007 killing of journalist Chauncey Bailey and two other men is not entitled to a separate trial, a judge ruled Thursday.

OAKLAND — George Orwell might have called it “Big Brother-ish,” a judge noted Tuesday, but he ruled that evidence from an electronic device that police planted on Yusuf Bey IV’s car can be used in his triple murder trial. Lawyers for Bey IV and associate Antoine Mackey argued that the electronic tracking violated their clients reasonable expectation of privacy.
