Statement on murder of reporter Jeff German in Las Vegas
The Chauncey Bailey Project has issued the following statement on the the tragic murder of Investigative Reporter Jeff German outside his home Saturday in Las Vegas.
“We send our thoughts and condolences to the family of Jeff German and all of his colleagues at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and to all those who knew him, loved him and respected him as a person and journalist.
“The killing of German must be thoroughly investigated by Nevada law enforcement. If it is a random and senseless murder, we are appalled. But if his killing is found to be related to his work as an investigative journalist, those responsible must be held to account. It must be remembered that killing a journalist never kills a story.”
